Once again, Teesside's baking enthusiasts are preparing to put their best sponges forward, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Huge annual fundraising event

The annual event, which started as a local initiative in 1990 before becoming a national event a year later, has helped to raise over £200 million since it began.

Efforts across the UK managed to raise £27 million last year and the hope is people will come together and make plenty of dough-nations to ensure Macmillan can continue supporting people through that life-defining moment of being diagnosed with cancer.

Across 2017, thanks to your support Macmillan estimate that they were able to reach out to 1.6 million lives impacted by cancer, providing them with personal, high impact support.

This is done through initiatives such as placing over 4,500 Macmillan nurses, specialising in cancer care, within NHS hospitals throughout the country.

Donating to Coffee Morning is so simple you can do it from your phone. Just text CUPCAKE to 70550 (one text=£5). Texts cost £5 plus network charge.

Macmillan will receive 100% of your donation. Obtain bill payer's permission.
