Jurassic Park 25th Anniversary Tour, FT the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, comes to Middlesbrough Town Hall: TONIGHT!

Teesside Fans of this groundbreaking film can still secure themselves a seat at what should be a unique and immersive experience at the newly refurbished Town Hall: https://www.middlesbroughtownhall.co.uk/shows/jurassic-park-concert/

Released on the 9 June 1993 (16 July, UK release), Jurassic Park; the Steven Spielberg Directed Sci-Fi epic, starring Sam Neil (Grant), Laura Dern (Ellie), Richard Attenborough (Hammond) and Jeff Goldblum (Malcolm) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special UK Tour.

Based on Michael Crichton's 1990 novel of the same name the then highest-grossing film ever at $914 million worldwide has cemented its place in screen history, with its influence being maintained by an ever growing cult following of old and new fans alike, ensuring this masterpiece remains relevant in today's millennial meme-culture.

This shouldn't necessarily be a surprise given the films groundbreaking nature.

Described by Empire magazine as "quite simply one of the greatest blockbusters of all time" the film's use of computer-generated imagery alongside life-sized animatronic dinosaurs contributed to the film winning one of three Oscar's for Best Visual Effects and led to film historian Tom Shone describing Jurassic Park's lasting influence as "a revolution in movies as profound as the coming of sound."

And indeed the area of sound was another aspect that the film excelled in, with a further two Oscars received for Best Sound Editing and Sound Mixing.

With a soundtrack composed by the legendary John Williams (also responsible for the musical backdrop to Jaws, Home Alone and Home Alone 2, plus the Star Wars and Indiana Jones series to name a few), the score contains cappella anthems as instantly recognisable as the scenes themselves.

And so what better way to celebrate a film that has become a part of fictional-history for so many of us than by holding a re-screening of the original, complete with a live orchestra?

25th Anniversary UK Tour

Tonight's event in Middlesbrough, helping to mark the 25th anniversary of the film, is part of a wider UK tour that runs up to the 5 December that sees the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ben Palmer, performing live to the backdrop of the original film helping to create a unique and immersive experience for Jurassic Park fans.

Having already performed in Brighton, Gateshead and Sheffield to date the tour continues on until the 5th December with future venues including Manchester, Hull and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

However, with tickets still available for tonight's performance at Middlesbrough Town Hall the opportunity for Teesside fans of the Jurassic Park films to secure their spot at this fantastic event, whilst getting a chance to marvel at the transformation of the Town Hall following the £7.7 million refurbishment work that completed earlier this year, should not be missed.
